Step outside your comfort zone!

Hello there and welcome to February!

So, what do you think about this? Do you think that we should step out of our comfort zones and do something that scares us?  Is it possible to do this every day?

Well, if you are self-employed, an SME or Start-up, chances are you are already doing something different and are well and truly out of your comfort zone.

Starting a business and maintaining a business is not always easy and there are all kinds of situations and experiences which present themselves.

With this is mind, do we really need to go looking for something new to scare ourselves with?

I think we do – sometimes! Having said that, I need to practice what  I preach. I too have to push myself out of my comfort zone and embrace new experiences; whether it is a cheese and wine tasting evening or a sky-dive,  a vocal training session or learning a new language. Some things are scarier than others!

Facing your fears and standing up to what scares you can only make a positive impact on your life, especially if anxiety has previously stopped you from achieving your goals.

Sometimes we need to stop and reflect on all that we have achieved and use all these accomplishments to propel ourselves forward. Reflection though is only part of the story. We need to surround ourselves with cheerleaders. You know the type, they always have words of wisdom for you, and a few funny anecdotes to keep you going.

Positive people, like the hub members at the Lets Go! Business hub at Enterprise Enfield,  remind you that you are not alone and you have a support network.  Engage with those who can see your full potential, encourage you and challenge you because they want to see you and your business grow.

Thank you, Sara Carter, Marketing Advisor at Enterprise Enfield and Diana Irinei,  of Jumping Stars for sharing a new experience with me. Diana Roy of Up Write – I am expecting you on the next leg of the journey.

Who are the positive people around you? Who are the most encouraging people you know?  Give them a call today and suggest a new adventure that will take you out of your comfort zone.

Take care,

Tricia
