Welcome to the last blog of 2016. Thank you to everyone who has followed and supported my blog this year.
What a year it’s been.
I’m sure there are plenty of people who will be glad to see the back of 2016. For some, it was the shock of Brexit, for others the shock of Trump, but for many, 2016 will be remembered for the unexpected deaths of several household names in the world of music, entertainment and the arts.
On a positive note, one main event comes to mind – the Olympic Games.
If you cast your mind back to August, you will recall that the Rio Olympics went ahead despite issues surrounding the Zika virus, a lack of funding and the Russian doping scandal. Britain did very well and managed an even better haul of medals than those received on home soil in London 2012.
